DELLS RACEWAY PARK JOINS HIGH SCHOOL RACING ASSOCIATION SERIES

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells has officially joined the High School Racing Association (HSRA) with four dates planned for the 2022 race season as of now at the one-third mile asphalt oval track. Dells Raceway Park joins Tomah-Sparta Speedway, La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway and Madison International Speedway as HSRA-sanctioned race tracks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our young people to get into racing and a chance to be mentored by one of their local heroes,” said Jerry Auby, Black Oval Promotions who is the Promotor of Dells Raceway Park. “HSRA has opened the door to the sport of auto racing so students who only had dreams before can now make their dream of becoming a race car driver a reality on their own.”

Dells Raceway Park races Saturday nights at 6 p.m. with other special events scattered throughout the schedule. HSRA dates for 2022 are as follows:

Saturday, June 11
Saturday, July 16
Saturday August 6
Saturday, August 27

“We are thrilled to have Dells Raceway Park join the HSRA Series in 2022,” said HSRA Director Jonathan Eckelberg. “The Dells team always puts on an exciting racing program and we’re looking forward to being a part of it. The proximity of the race track to so many high schools, as well as other HSRA tracks, is a big opportunity and we hope many students will take advantage of it.”

The HSRA features American Production six-cylinder sedans with various safety enhancements. The driver’s high school colors and mascot must be incorporated into the paint scheme of the car’s roof at a minimum. Students entering their freshman year of high school, current high school students as well as those just graduating from high school, with a minimum age of 14 and maximum age of 19 are eligible to compete. A complete set of rules and regulations can be found on the Official HSRA website at highschoolracing.org.

Racing facilities interested in hosting HSRA events, schools, or students who want to learn more, are encouraged to contact Jonathan Eckelberg, HSRA Director at jon@highschoolracing.org or 608-769-3903.
